"We the members of the North State Law Enforcement Officers Association are committed to maintain law enforcement professionalism through education, training, and the lawful removal of unwanted circumstances from the communities that we serve.
We adhere to the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics and recognize that shared experiences among law enforcement officers and the communities that we serve are essential to the elimination of discriminatory practices, the improvement of the quality of life for all citizens, and ensuring that a just atmosphere prevails for all members of the criminal justice system."
The Gaston County Chapter of North State exists to serve and train minority law enforcement personnel in our area.
We strive to create a community service attitude with ethics that increase performance of all of our members and those who attend our training programs.
We value our relationship with the departments that we serve, the public, and the other agencies that support our profession.
We are committed to ensuring that a just atmosphere prevails for all law enforcement officers and to assist those who come to us in attaining their personal and professional goals.
To accomplish the above mission, we continually direct our efforts in the following areas:
To create a bond which promotes the best interest for the common good.
To secure closer official and personal relationships among minorities in law enforcement.
To be a service to the local communities by way of community based outreach projects.
To secure merited recognition of minority law enforcement officers and their work.
To enhance the leadership capabilities and increase ones skill sets, allowing for better chance for promotion.
Welcome
The North State Law Enforcement Officers Association is a
non-profit professional organization that is devoted to furthering the education and training of minority law enforcement personnel. We are comprised of several hundred law enforcement professionals represented by ten (10) Chapters located throughout North Carolina.
Our membership consist of personnel from all branches of the criminal justice profession. Membership is open to all law enforcement personnel regardless of race, rank, assignment or department affiliation. We also offer Honorary Memberships to non-law enforcement advocates who have demonstrated significant support for the advancement of the law enforcement profession and/or the Association. North State realizes there is strength through unity. Together, we will ensure that a just atmosphere prevails for all law enforcement officers and support personnel.
